Ben & Jerry's Half Baked

This proved to be the most elusive of Ben & Jerry's "2Twisted!" flavors which I was rounding up for review; undoubtedly the promise of "Chocolate Fudge Brownie meets Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough" is making this one the hottest seller of the bunch. At least that's how it appears in my neck of the woods, which, judging by the paucity of Half Baked around here, is populated with a bunch of ice cream eatin' fatties.

Actually, I should mention that in my travels to find this, on two occasions there was either a high school runner or swimmer girl in the ice cream aisle clearly selecting binge food. Well, we've all been there.

And maybe I'm forgetting the pot smokin' crowd, who would certainly buy barrels full of something called Half Baked that involved brownies and cookie dough buried in a mixture of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Certainly if you are, yourself, half baked, this holds clear appeal.

All that said, I was not terribly impressed. It was really good, but actually did not seem to be as good a blend as some of the other "2Twisted!" flavors. Both ice creams involved are superdelicious on their own, but their strong personalities do not collaborate well. They are at war with each other, unlike in Entangled Mints, whose blended flavors are in total communion.

The two components of Half Baked are not a successful "symbiant circle," as Obi-Wan Kenobi would say. Jedi, I believe, are connoisseurs of ice cream, although they don't spend nearly as much time reviewing it as fatties like me.
