 Gert Wilden I should preface the review by stating that I will buy any pornography-related soundtrack compilation on CD. The genre fascinates me; it is a music made for people who are not primarily fans of music, and usually made by people who are not primarily makers of music. This CD compiles various theme songs from a long- running series of softcore German "documentaries" called Schulmädchen Report (or "Schoolgirl Report"). Composed by Gert Wilden (a real composer/arranger akin to Henry Mancini or John Barry), these tunes stand above the usual softcore schlock music while retaining the beautiful essence of that schlock. Like many similar collections (i.e. Vampyros Lesbos Sexadelic Dance Party), this one prominently features pop song rip-offs (the first track is a dirty dead ringer for Canned Heat's "On The Road Again," for example, while track 4 may as well be "In The Summertime) and Sound Gallery-style psychedelic-lite. A wonderful listening experience, this makes up in freshness and unique appeal what it lacks in actual musical excellence. I look forward to the day when I can witness these cinematic benchmarks on home video; as it is I will continue to use the same old homemade porno loops. (?)
