 Jana Wacker The photo cover of Ms. Wacker ought to serve as the template for the next wave of hipster-girl style … though I can't think of anyone I know who'd be confident enough to rock the "Foxy Soccer Moms for Jesus" look. Their loss. While it is possible that Word Records was hoping she would become the Christian Dusty Springfield, Jana has her own style and quickly settles into a gentle groove. Have you Thought About God? is much more listenable than the typical current Christian music output which, sadly, still practices the "we need a Christian version of a secular artist" routine. A title like "Little Jesus" holds so much potential, and amazingly, the song lives up to it, with Jana's extra-warm alto vox flowing over a field of tamborine. If this is what it takes to get America back on it's knees, then brother, pass me my New American Standard and copy of Have You Thought About God?. We've got some converting to do.
