Wonka Tangy Taffy – Purple Herman Grape Flavor

Boy, does this bring back memories. Tangy Taffy ("urban" folks know it these days as Laffy Taffy … by "urban" I mean city-dwelling, of course) is certainly a venerable candy; I can remember eating it when I was young enough to lose baby teeth in it. It tastes pretty much just like I remember it; very sweet and to a less extent, tart. The grape flavor is not overpowering, but the sweetness is almost crazily overwhelming by the time you reach the end of the … uh … stick? Bar?

Well, whatever you call it, Tangy Taffy is still decent, but best left to folks with a higher tolerance for chewy sugary tartness than I have. Guess I'm not as young or "urban" as I used to be. Maybe I could gain some street cred back by recording a sexy double-entendre R&B song called "Purple Herman."
