For some reason, I have heard 'Winter Wonderland' far more than any other holiday song this year. In particular, the Eurythmics' version. I'd heard it before, but never noticed how half-assed it is – it really sounds like they went in the studio intending to spend no more than an hour on the track. The programming and vocal performance are COMPLETELY punch-the-clock, no passion or commitment to be found anywhere. After noticing this, of course, I immediately liked the version a LOT more.
