Dos Equis Special Lager

If Corona is the beer equivalent of Cancún, Dos Equis is Cozumél – the safer, more mature, and more streamlined cerveza. It's smooth, tasty, and watery in the same way that the Gulf of Mexico is: because it has to be.

Though, perhaps, Negra Modelo is a cooler choice for Mexican beer, you definitely can not go wrong with a Dos Equis. Like Michelob, it delivers a consistency of flavor and smoothness that most mainstream beers lack. As opposed to spring-break-in-a-bottle, it's an all-inclusive, five-day-resort-stay-with-a swim-up-bar-and-a-day-trip-to-some-Mayan-ruins, in a bottle.

Coincidentally, I tried departing from my pirate-ship-in-a-bottle hobby by crafting an all-inclusive, five-day-resort-stay-with-a swim-up-bar-and-a-day-trip-to-some-Mayan-ruins, in a bottle … but the results were disastrous. Perhaps the problem stemmed from me trying to cram those Playmobil® Mayan Indians into the bottle … fortunately, it only took about three Dos Equis for me to forget about the whole debacle.
