Barq's Root Beer

"The one with bite," indeed. A harsh and mostly unsatisfying root beer, Barq's has built its entire reputation on the fact that it goes down about as easily as a typical Amish housewife.

The throat-blistering factor of warm Barq's is off the scale, and a cold Barq's out of the can is hardly easier. The best way to drink it is over ice, either out of a fountain or a bottle.

Regardless, Barq's is far from smooth or creamy, and is a root beer only in the loosest definition of the term. It's definitely one of my last root beer choices, but admittedly I'll drink twenty Barq's before I touch a single can of Mug.
